I Have been a member of this forum for about 4 months. i have been looking for the right SC430 and plan to buy one when the right one comes along. i have gotten the Porsche out of my system. i owned an 1985 911 Targa and sold it several years ago. My wife had a Mustang convertible but we got rid of that when the grand children came along. i was originally looking at Mercedes SL500, but they scare me to death. The hydraulics are a nightmare, etc.

Long story short, i fell in love with the SC. This forum has been invaluable in preparing me for my purchase.

Keep looking jclark, the right one is out there. I owned a 2002 from 2004-2011 and sold it. Big mistake and wanted another SC. It took me 4 months to find one but I found a 2007 in Scottsdale Arizona with 30,000 miles, it was perfect. I looked on the car websites daily for the best deal. Hang in there the wait will be worth it.

To the OP, hmmm, looks like your thought process was kind of like mine in 2007/8. Wanted a convertible, test drove some 1999/2000 MB SL500s and sort of gave up and ended up with the SC430. Been very happy all this time.
