How often do you use the manual shift mode ? Are the shifts smooth ?
Are the shifts quick ? Does the car accelerate better by staying in
the gears a little longer ?

A little quicker, a little less smooth.
Yeah, I guess so. It's kinda like turning on SPORT mode.

On my 2008, I've found that if I engage "power mode" (the left rocker switch on the console), and move the shift lever into the left shift gate, its like driving a different car. It's much more responsive and feels like a real V8.
When you do this, you don't have to shift manually (unless you want to), but you will notice that you only have four gears (the PRNDL Display on the dash). I usually flick it forward twice (it will display "6") and you will have all six gears. It's fun once in a while, but I find I tire of it quickly....the stock suspension on the 430 doesn't keep up with the engine, so on curvy roads, it gets to be a handful. Straight line however, if you mash the throttle - it will throw you back in your seat with authority .....
One more thing - if you really want to go *****-out; turn off the ATC (traction control) after you engage power mode & have the lever to the left; you can spin the rears all day long & do doughnuts...but be very careful - it can also get away from you in a heart-beat....it reminds me of a '60s muscle-car - all power & no control!
Have fun..
