Ok, so I was looking at a '06 SC for a pretty good price for it's miles, but then I stumbled upon reading that the '05 and older have more hp than the '06 +. I know the '02-'05 have 300 hp but 5speed, and '06-'10 have 288 hp and 6 speed. In all honesty, overall which is a better choice?? More hp and less speed or JUST 12 less hp and 1 more speed. In my opinion, I obviously want the newer version because there were some changes to it, especially the newer headlights and sexy tailights, interior-wise as well. What do you SC owners say?? The 06+ is a better choice just based on the 6-speed transmission alone. I would assume the 6-speed SC430 has a manual mode like 6-speed LS430's did but I've never driven an 06+ SC.

The taillights and headlights on the 06 look way cooler too. Go with the 06. You won't regret it.

just so you know the hp is really 288 they say its 300 but its the same engine as the 06 they just lowered the hp

Right, the hp didn't really change between the different model years, it was just the method of measuring hp that changed. Using the same equipment and methodologies for determining hp, all stock SC430s should come out the same.
