OK, I've been reading about the importance of running the car long enough to burn off the condensation in the engine in the mornings .....well, this is the most the car is run each way for the week. So, I've been changing oil once per each 6 months or 3.5 k miles/yr , would this wear and tear be considered "Severe service" and do you think this is often enough to change oil on the SC430 ?
It appears the oil temp never gets hot enough to burn off the condensation...
Ive been using Castrol Synthetic oil...
Comments or suggestions welcome.......
Just running it by you guys.

Every six months should be more than enough with syn. You could send your used oil off to a lab to get an analysis for a fairly nominal fee - they would give you a pretty complete report.

I have about 7 miles and 25 minutes every day (welcome to Los Angeles!). It's about 5k miles per year, so I use synthetic and change once a year. The oil always looks clean; that said, my engine does get up to full operating temp each trip.

yep my service advisor said every 6 months, my mechanic for non lexus vehicles told me thats over kill but that it cant hurt to be safe. It also depends on the climate conditions. He said if it gets extremely hot and your car is sitting out all the time to def do it every six months.
