Exclamation How To Remove Pie Center Caps?

Being a new SC430 owner, I am planning on switching out the pie center caps for the star caps.

Will I need to remove the big center screws from the wheel to change out the center caps, or do I only need to remove the little screws which are around the center caps? Or do I also need to remove the entire wheel from the car to switch out the center caps?

Any insight is appreciated, thanks!

You do not need to remove the lugs (bolts that old the wheel to the car). You only need to remove the little screws around the center cap. The wheel can stay on the car.

The screwdriver you need to remove the hex screws should be in your trunk.

if not, it's a metric allen wrench. not sure what size, but it should be easy enough to figure out.

They are 5mm stainless allen head bolts. They are also pretty easy to strip.

i have the chrome twisties, getting ready to put on non-RFT's. Planning on taking it to local shop for install. Does any of the wheel hardware need to come off? i don't want them to screw anything up.

I would give them the car without the caps. I'm pretty sure they have to be taken off to balance the wheels anyway.

Thanks to all who responded on this. It seems the metric allen wrench is missing from the tools in my trunk (someone probably took it out before I bought the car), so I will have to see where I can buy one. I wonder if Home Depot has them.
