Default rim center caps

How do I remove the center caps on my chrome lexus factory rims? I polished the wheels today and see some corrosion I would like to address in and around the center caps. Thanks

I have a '99 RX and '04 LS and the center caps both pop right out. They are snapped into the center by three to four slots on the wheel. Pop the cap out from the underside, not prying from the top side. Use the handle side of a big screw driver or something like that. A long wood stick would do too.

it all depends on which lexus wheel you got. some can pop open from the front if it hides the nut lugs. some can only be remove by taking of the wheel and pop it out from behind.

I thought you could use a small thin opticians screw driver to pop it off. Not sure though.

You can definitely pry it open as well, but then you risk scratching the rim or the cap. So, why do that when you can easily pop it out from the back.

Also, if you've ever seen a tire removal/installation machine, the mechanic throws the wheel right on the machine and the post pops the center cap right off (and usually sends it flying). Which is why when you get your vehicle done at a shop, make sure they put the cap back on or you could be driving off with four missing center caps.
