Hey guys, I'm gonna be buying a 2006 SC430 in the next couple month, soon as I find one with low enough mileage and low enough price with the color combo I want.
My question primarily, do the 2006 come with i-pod connectivity, or any sort of AUX input?
And was there ever a cooled/ventilated seats option? I havent found any that have that.
I am not 100% about the I-pod connectivity on the 2006, but if I had to guess I would say no, there are units like the SoundLinQ2 (SL2Vi) made by VAIS Technology that allows you to connect ur Ipod
and none of the SC's to date have cooled seats, :-(
no, you have to buy something like the vais unit. the nice thing on the 2006+ is that it fully integrates your ipod. so you can use the stereo controls to control the ipod. every year prior to that, you can only control the volume through the stereo.

I see. And it will display text on the LCD, like the song names, etc?
Because I do have the VAIS unit for my GS, but I've never installed it.
Allright, are there any common problems I should look for when making the purchase? I'm pretty familiar with the drivetrain, but are there any little quirks I should be aware of?
Trunk struts typically die after about 4 years. Speakers start to buzz because they separate from the speaker frame. Do a Carfax to make sure that it isn't an abused vehicle.
The Vais does NOT display info on the screen -- it displays playlist number and track number, but that's it. There aren't any other options that display the text either.
if you're buying a car, $300 isn't that much in the grand scheme of things to add ipod integration.
Well no, but its not the matter of $300, its just that taking apart the dashboard and adding an aftermarket unit doesnt exactly excite me. But I guess this is something I will have to do.
P.S. Does the stock stereo play mp3s recorded on CDs?
