Anyone done led tail lights on a 02?
What is needed to convert to the LED set up on the newer models>

Find a set of 06 and above LED tails and the associated ecu. Or instead of the ecu, disassemble the dash and tape over the tail light bulb warning light.
If you can find them, salvage yards are charging close to $200 per side for the tail light, and Lexus is getting $500 for the ecu if you buy new.

For 02 to 05, you can also be creative to do something like this.

I agree; I think this is a nice & creative alternative to the 06+ taillight upgrade. Can anyone tell me what led bulbs were used for the upgrade in the pic above? Also, this may be a dumb question, but can the amber portion of the taillight be removed/replaced? I haven't had a chance yet to remove & check out the taillight housings.
Just for kicks, I asked the dealership about converting to the 06+ taillights for my 02. I was told that it can't be done due to fit & electronic issues, although I know that it's been done by many CL members.
