Removing SC430 Door Panels
My wife's SC430's door woofers had gone out and I needed to remove them for repair. I found the excellent thread on just that subject, except when I was ready to pullout and lift up on the door panel to remove it, it felt like it was solidly attached to the door frame. I was able to remove the speakers without completely removing the panel, but I would like to know how to remove it completely in case I need to work on the other speakers. After removing the window control unit, I realize that some pressure is needed for some of these procedures, but I don't want to break anything! I've had two LS400s with similar problems and have had no problems removing those panels.
I noted that the thread suggests that the eleven screws be removed to remove the wood trim. Is that really necessary and if so, how is that done?
Thanks for any help and please don't send me the link to the thread that I noted--I have that!

pry out door control unit, disconnect. couple of screws around the door, one with the "stopper" close to the latch. pop two clips where it's close to the door jam. one screw under the armrest i believe. and i think one screw inside after you take out the door control unit?
then the whole panel should be loose and you just pop it up

Solved!
I found, when replacing the repaired speakers, that if you lift up the dashboard end of the panel first, it unclips easily and the rear end can then be unclipped. Also, used Freeman-Tuell Speaker Service in east Dallas--$50 ea and they sound great!

Hi Pearlpower,
I am in the process of replacing the front door woofer as well and having a hard time getting the door panel off. I am able to pull the door panel out from the bottom of the door frame but there seems to be something holding it on the top. I tried ZGone's suggestion of pulling it outwards and pushing it up, but no luck.
I'd appreciate the pictures as well. Thank you very much.
