Default Issue with installing HID lights

Hi everyone, was wondering if anybody can shed some light on an issue I have. I ordered a HID headlight kit for the high beams of my 02 SC, when I installed them they would not work at all, unplug the ballast and plug in the stock bulb and it worked. Installed the HID kit in my wife's ES300 and they worked like a charm! Does anyone know if the SC has some kind of a sensor for the high beam circuit that if it doesn't read the proper resistance it will shut the circuit down? This is just a bit baffling?

Turn the connector around So that black goes to red and red goes to black

turn the main power plug around ie put the + to - and the - to + very common fault

also too, the big issue is the power and response of high beams. you cant just wire HIDs to your high beams and expect them to work. heres why:
aftermarket ballasts and bulbs take time to warm up. even when you turn them on in full most take 30 seconds to heat up to the correct color. if you flash them off and on, they dont have the time to "spark the light", not to mention the damage to the filaments. this is going to be an uphill battle im afraid.

Ok then, I will pull the wires from the connectors and reverse them, it's the only way! Everything is plug & play, all connector plugs are one way, they cannot be hooked up backwards! Being that I went from a lexus to another lexus and they then worked makes me think it's something else. I would think both cars have the same polarity to the head light wiring??
