Integration of Vaistech SLU w Harman/Kardons Drive + Play
Im thinking about getting the Vaistech SLU and integrate it with the Harman/Kardon Drive + Play kit
(http://ipodstore.no/images/Drive_PlayComplete_965.jpg
Using this you can smoothly hide the ipod unit in the center mid box and controll the ipod via a "controll ****" and see all the songs playing via the "mini screen" including in the kit.
Have anyone tried this before?

Reconf. my question:P
Ok, lets put it like this.
If you use the Vaistech SLU device and then integrate it with another
aux adapter (harman/kardon drive + play), do you guys think that
I will loose some sound quality (due to the fact that the Ipod first
go through the Vaistech SLU and THEN into HK Drive+Play)?
Bottom line, do you loose some sound quality if you go through
two aux inputs, or does the aux input work like a optical input=no soundquality loss?
I cant use SLI because im driving a SC430 model 2002, so the
only option is SLU

Have same problem as you with a 2003 SC430. I think wiring a griffin remote into the steering wheel controls is a far cleaner solution than cluttering the interior of the car with the h/k solution, see my earlier posts + http://www.asdfg.org/sc430ipod/ for more info.

Some "pro" pics:P
I think its pretty ok "integration" with the dashboard.
Ill take some better pics with a real camera soon (and
in daylight) so that the pics will be a lil clearer.
Please let me know if you think of a better place to put
the screen and the **** (dont forget that the wiring should
be as invicible as possible).

"The ****"
The steering wheel that is quite cool and do not conflict
with either manually second gear/low gear or the power or
snow buttons. You can also snap up the coin box without
to much hussle.
The ipod is safely put inside the mid. bottom compartment (where there already is an extra cig. input for electricity).
"Prex: Quality loss will be negligible, chances are you're working with MP3s that have already suffered some amount of loss, even spdif optical has an amount of loss, etc. If you rip all your music to lossless formats and it is that much of a concern to you, then it might matter till you turn the engine on ..."
If I convert an mp3 to wav (so that I can listen to the 6-disc changer) the sound is very very impressing. But, converting the same mp3 to my ipod, using the HK Drive+Play via the FM-radio in line the sound is pretty messed up, plus there is a constant static sound
Pearlpower, do the sound via your ipod using Vaistech SLU (via aux-input?) sounds as good as if u burn a mp3 on a cd?
*Im also thinking about using the Monster iCable (for aux/rca) just to get as good soundquality as possible.
Anyone tried that out?
