Hey Shawn, I too like a good deal and good value.
I am certainly going to look at the one your purchased and if I only need to clear coat I will do it. My concern is heat and water since I live in Florida.

I live in Chicago and we got horrible snow during the Polar Vortex of 2014, and also the brutal heat of Oklahoma. The only issue I had was the chrome. The camera electronics never gave me any issues. It's actually completely sealed enclosure around the lens and IR sensors. No way to even get water in there. I felt it was the right decision for me, and I recommend it for this application. It's pretty low profile since all vehicles require license plates. Most people don't even notice it.

Ps. the walmart links says it's available still for $55.80 and 59.76 through their subseller BeachAudio.

If you purchase the chrome finish, I would suggest spraying it down with gloss clear coat before installing. The chrome would last a lot longer for sure. It's a great looking finish.

Sweet. I really think you will be pleased. For the price it's truly a value that can't be beat. It will come with a pair of jumpers that you can either add or remove to give you the function of parking lines or mirror image. Pretty self explanatory once you see the unit.

That is a good choice and I did not know it would do that!
Did you try mirror and lines? If so, which do you like better?

Thanks for posting. I bit the bullet and ordered the Navtool from Navtool and the the Crimestopper 180 from Shawn's Walmart link.

My SC430 is the only car I've owned without a backup camera in several years. Now I back up a twisty driveway and it will make it much more pleasant.

Thanks

Question to members that have back up cameras, when you shift to reverse does the navigation has to be active for the screen to show image? Reason being I don't use my navigation at all and if I were to add the back up camera and the nav is not in use, when you shift to reverse does the nav door just open and shows the image or just not functioning at all? Thanks for anyone's reply.

Another question here, I hope I did not ask it before ;-)
Where do you connect the power for the camera?
Is it always on?
Does it turn on with the ignition?

I believe you connect the power to the reverse(back up) lights so that when the power goes there the camera receive the power as well.

Tks for setting me straight!
