Default Factory exhaust tips

What material are our chrome looking exhaust tips made or finished with? They are not chrome I'm sure but am wondering if they are stainless or aluminum

What is the best way to clean these up. Mine could use a little more shine. 2004 with 33K Miles.

Best stuff ever. Don't need a lot - just a dab. The small tube will last forever.

I used Scotch pads (or whatever they are called). The plastic scrubbing pads that you can pick up at the hardware store that come in varying degrees of roughness. (I'll have to look up what product they actually are.)

....same here Harold. I spray a little degreaser on them, then clean them with the Scotch pads.I usually do them about every other months, takes 10-15mns

Mine were 3M. One was "Between coats finishing pads" and the other was "Final stripping pads". I forget what cleanser I used, it could have been Greased Lightning or some other good household cleaner (maybe even brake cleaner, though I doubt that). It was a few years ago.

Simichrome works great (with elbow grease or a power buffer).

I use stainless steel cleaner that you would use for a stainless steel refrigerator, works great with a little elbow grease.
