Default LAPD's new Chargers...chrome exhaust tips?!

Finally saw one today and I'm jealous they have some snazzy features. Actually, what really got my attention was they are all coming with chrome exhaust tips. Chrome exhaust tips? On a law enforcement car? I don't think I've ever seen this. Seems like a total waste of manufacturing and money. Who's going to clean these bright pieces and maintain them? These cars will be beat up in one year. Yes, I have a stock tailpipe fetish and this is going to drive me crazy for the next five years. Some nicer, more expensive civilian cars don't even come with these fancy things. Doesn't Dodge offer non-chrome tips with their police package? If yes, why on earth did the city of L.A. specify chrome?
End rant

I doubt the tips were even a concern to them.

however I did see a unmarked police spec charger that was all blacked out with the front cross bars and all. had the antennas, multiple rear view mirrors. It was so freaking HARD.

If they come standard on the car, they're not going to remove them.

Its just the way the car comes. They will be filthy but who cares. Those cars are designed to take serious mileage and abuse. I doubt they are even thinking of this
