I have an SC 430. It's got style, sport look and convertible but lets face it, it's not a race car or a road hugging porshe. My friend says the Lexus IS model is a road hugger and a speedster and the IS model can definately compete with porsche. Anybody have any experience with this ? Thanks.

I've driven both, the IS350 definitely is faster and better handling...just my opinion

I own both a 2002 SC430 and a 2011 IS350C.
Both cars have their good/bad qualities. My overall preference is I like the SC430 better. Everywhere I go, people compliment me on the car.

Having said that, the IS350C is a much better "sports car" than the SC430. It also has far superior electronics. The downside is its just does feel as nice nor does it give me that "special" feeling when I drive it like the SC430 does.

SC430 is not a sports car, its a sporty looking roadster. I own an is250, an ISF, and an SC430. Out of the 3 I only consider the ISF a sports car. My brother owned an is350 and as a previous posted stated it handled better and was faster (by alot) than the sc430. So I think the IS wins just based on the fact the SC430 is just supposed to look nice.
