Advise to buy 2008 SC430
I have had 2 SC430's before and stupidly sold my 2003 with 70,000 miles in 2012 to get a BMW. Now I might want to get another SC, but price is an issue this time around. I saw online at a Lexus dealer a 2008 SC Pebble Beach with 59,561 miles for $31,500 in smokey granite mica. It is in outstanding perfect condition and beautiful. But the miles vs price seems too high, as I can buy an older year with less miles and cheaper. I cannot decide whether to get a SC 430 or get a newer Lexus like a 2011 or 12 IS 250 with maybe 20,000 or so for the same kind of payment.
Can anyone give me some smart advise. I am just tired of high payments anymore being 63 now. I love my cars and take care of them like one of my kids.

Sure! Sell or trade in the bimmer. That will be the first move. Test drive the IS and make your comparison vs the SC 430. Decide what you want, and go from there.

IS250's are a dime a dozen. The SC430 is unique and beautiful today after fourteen years since inception. Just because the dealer is asking that price, doesn't mean they will get it. Make them an offer that is reasonable to you.
If you come to a stoplight in your 2008 PB SC430 and see an IS250 next to you, how will you feel compared to if you come to the same stoplight in an IS250 and see a 2008 PB SC430 next to you? Money is far from everything.

Hi Cinmarc, I agree 100% with donalp, I searched for a long time for a sc430 and kicked myself for months after I let a good1 get through my fingers . I was too busy trying to get a better deal when someone smarter than me snapped it up. I would have paid more than the asking price a couple of months later when I had looked at a lot of trashed/junk ones. Here in Ireland IS are 10 a penny but I can go weeks without seeing a SC. A bird in the hand...

Where I am confused is that should I get an older year with the same milege for less money or go for the 2008 pebble beach with 59,000 in excellent condition, new tires, no scratches and a lexus certified used car warranty. I have no idea after 4 years of not owning one whether 32,000 is a good deal.

All I want to know is if the asking price is good or too high. It is not about comparing to any other car. If you read my question it is about the 2008 price and whether I should get an older one instead of the one I described with the CPO warranty from Lexus.

As we all know, when a car is traded in on the purchase of another car, the dealer then has two avenues to make money. Often times when a higher than expected trade-in value is given, the selling price of the new vehicle is higher than otherwise could be attained.
