Anyone with peeling clear-coat ?
Read about someone having to repaint an 06 white ( starfire pearl )
due to peeling clear-coat. The car was from the south, so lots
of sun beating on it. Anyone know of any problems with
the clear-coats of any model years ?

I have an indigo ink '02 that has lived here in Texas all its life with no problems so far.

Good stories so far. Toyota and Nissan experimented with "soft" paint
in the mid-to-late 2000s. It was a more "environmentally" friendly paint, but
more prone to rock chips and just didn't have as tough of a outer shell.
Nissan 370Z owners have complained about this kind of paint on their
cars. Many people install clear film on the hood and front bumper to
protect the paint.

Im peeling the original clear coat in my 02' Silver SC ONLY under the rear tail lights and top parts of rear bumper, not a whole lot to bug me a lot just yet, not noticeable much in Silver thank god. Although Ive only owned my SC for about 3 months I cant tell you if its been garaged its whole life or not, I think not, and sadly it still Isnt, which doesn't help the case. Oh well always a good reason for a color change

Now it looks nice but I also added a clear bra over the bumper to protect it from future rocks. However, I believe that the first repaint by the former owner was just a bad job that was poorly prepped.
