Default 06 SC430 Headlight Replacement?

The right front HID has failed in our SC.
Two local dealers want $473.00 to replace it and an independent will do it for $400.
I'm relatively mechanically inclined, are there any instructions, videos, etc.. on how to drop the front bumper to accomplish this absurd part replacement task?
Thans in advance!
Brian

I have a 2005 and I think there is another way to reach the HID other then dropping the bumper. Search forum

I found the "DIY thread" but it seems there are some steps missing for a 2006 and was just looking for clarification.
The bumper drop seems to be the way to go and I have the time to try it.

Once the bumper is off, either side is the same. I would change both to ensure the same brightness.

Glad it might help. The service manual entry I used was for an '02 and seemed to apply exactly for my '06. If there are any differences between the two, I didn't see them.

outstanding video!
thank you for posting it.
this should be a sticky and hope a mod will add your video...

BTW, these are excellent products to clean up headlights!
i believe Harold told me about them.
I cleaned them about three months ago and no yellow is showing up.

The Blue car is a 2002 and the red is a 2007. I cleaned the lights on the blue car. The red car has never been cleaned and still looks new.
