SC430 Hood Chrome Repair
Ok, so this might be a stupid question but I have a small stone chip in the chrome "dressing" that lines the nose of the hood. Anyone have a good solution to repair this. From what i saw from Sewell, the whole hood is an entire piece with the chrome part. Just an eyesore and would like to fix it. Any suggestions short of "buy a new hood?"

Even if it's plastic they might still be able to re chrome it. They chromed it the first right. I'd check just for the heck of it. It might be cheaper than a new piece or maybe not.

Mark found the part for you. The Lexus part number is 7577024010
Do a google search for 7577024010 or 75770-24010 and you will find it available fir about $65 from many online sources.

I thought of you today, off on my trip down to Le Mans tomorrow and the weather looks superb.
First chance of some proper top down motoring ( I hope).
We are going down the long way following the coast this year. I will post some pics when I get back next Tuesday.
On the subject of the hood trim, I took mine off to paint it and I am sure it is metal.
Take care fella.
Best regards
Steve

WOW! Thanks guys! You've done it again! Always come through for me when I'm stuck! Yeah, a little expensive for such a small dent. I took a closer look and found a few nuts holding it in place on the inner hood side. Might pop it off and possibly just get it rechromed or professionally chrome vinyl wrapped. Depends on what is cheaper, i guess. Thank again everyone!
