Default Q re Nav System

Can anyone tell me if putting in a disc that is not the correct disc for the 2002 SC430 Nav system will "fry" the Nav system or will the system just not be able to read it? Also, will inserting the correct disc do any damage to the disc if the Nav system is in fact fried?

...I don't think it will fry the system. A couple of years ago, I purchased a nav disk that was not compatable with my system (gen. 2/3). The message "not able to read" or something similar to that, popped up on the screen. After a few more tries, I just replaced it with the original disk & it operated ok. I later purchased the correct disc & had no issues
