Your Lexus Dealer's Hourly Rate?
#2
I think the following is how the dealerships work The issue with the labor charges is that the mechanic is allotted a certain amount of time to do a specific job on the car, The labor book says for example 2 hours to complete and then the mechanic completes it in 1 hour the customer pays for two hours and the mechanic is able to move on to the next job after earning him self 2 hours of billing. If he works really fast he can maybe bill 12 hours and work only 8. This is how he makes more money. The problem with this is it can breed sloppy work. Guess who is paying this . "YOU" Guess who else shares in this profit The dealership

As far as I know Americans are used to prices shown without VAT. In Germany it's the other way around, mostly our prices are shown with VAT included, so that you see at a glance what you finally have to pay without any further calculating.

Yes, no matter if you paint my living room, cut my hair, upgrade my Lexus or buy just a hot dog: in these cases 19% VAT is always included.

I was at my local Toyota dealership today to get an estimate on replacing my antenna motor and/or mast. They mentioned that their hourly labor rate was $125/hour. Then I mentioned that I needed to also go up to Lexus to have the airbag recall done. So he called up to OKC to see how much it would cost to do it there at the same time as the recall repair, and they said $135/hr.
