Default AC blowing hot air

A few months my AC starting blowing hot air. When I was at the dealer, they claimed the compressor was bad and wanted over a 1000 to replace. I looked online when I was there and said the new denso compressor was about 300 online. They wanted double. I just left and didn't worry about it since it was about winter then. Now I need to get it fixed.

A guy noticed the other day when I cut the AC button on, the clutch engaged and cut back off. He didn't have time to fully check it that day and wants me to bring back if I can another day.

I did some searching on this board, but haven't seen compressor issues with the SC430. I have a 94 ES300 and a 2004 RX330 and neither have had compressor issues. So I am shocked at this anyway.

I bought a relay, but that did not work. I just read on the LS forum that a lot of people have had problems with the AC pressure switch.

I understand that switch could prevent the compressor from coming on when the switch goes bad. Do we have that switch on the 06 SC430? If so, where is it? I can't find a part number listed in Alldata. I would love to check it before spending a ton of money on compressor replacement.

By the way, I have plenty of refrigerant. They checked that at the dealer and added some then. And I did AC diagnostics and show no codes.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I didn't receive any help from anyone. But I will post the fix for this in case someone else runs into this problem.

After replacing the compressor, pressure switch, computer, and 2 climate controls, I finally found the fix.

Thank God that I found a forum where someone was talking about a toyota with an ac compressor that disengages right after you cut the AC on. It turns out they needed an AC Amplifier.

I starting searching for this part on the SC430. It is on a unit right behind the climate control. The part numbers are the same for 2002 - 2005. Thats when I discovered why the used climate controls wouldn't fix the AC problem. When you buy used climate control, the seller or junkyard will give you the whole unit together, not just the climate control on the front.

All these climate controls work fine on any year for the SC430 and all sites will tell you that. That threw the mechanics off who were working on this issue because all the controls worked and even the convertible top and GPS controls worked.

But for the 2006, you need to find a climate control unit for a 2006! Because there is something different about the AC amplifier on the back of it.

I finally found one for this year the other day, and it took me a couple of minutes to install. And I have cold air again. Thank God I wasn't charged for labor because the mechanics couldn't solve it. I just had to pay for these parts. But I will try to sell on ebay.
