How Much Did Your SC430 Cost You?

Felt like it was a decent deal - wasn't as clean as we would have preferred, but no issues - But we were very specific in what we wanted - an 06 or newer, preferred a Pebble Beach, didn't want the 06 or 07 PB colors...

QUOTE=jasone36;6724901]Out of curiosity, I would like to do a very unscientific, "gut-feel" survey of how much everyone paid for their SC430s. I figure there's no better crowd than this to throw the question out there...
1. In what year did you buy your SC430? 8/2014
2. What year is your SC430? 2006
3. Roughly how many miles did the SC430 have when you bought it? 46k
4. Do you feel you got a good deal (did the car break down after purchase, incur high repair costs, etc)? Exterior was nearly flawless. Interior in excellent shape with the exception of some yellowing of the ecru leather in some spots. Dealer (not Lexus) agreed to recondition all the leather. Next day, it looked absolutely brand new. Not sure how they did it, but it was amazing. Only issues were antenna mast problems (which I resolved with info from CL!) and they had mounted one of the new tires backwards. Only nagging issue is one headlamp is intermittent and probably about to go out. Park Place Lexus found zero issues with the car during a courtesy inspection.

4. Do you feel you got a good deal (did the car break down after purchase, incur high repair costs, etc)? I think I did okay. Not great but okay. The car is mechanically sound; the interior cosmetics are quite nice; the exterior cosmetics are pretty good; and, it came with new tires. It needed timing belt replacement (add $1200 to the purchase price), new rear brakes and foam replacement in the door speakers. The roof has an intermittent stalling problem that we are still working to resolve. I had about 8 door dings very cleanly removed by a very skilled paintless dent removal guy. There are some light but unbuffable scratches on the passenger door and some rock chips in front that we will be getting fixed next week. I admit we want the car to look like it's a late model with very low miles..... and keep it that way.
5. Roughly how much did you pay for your SC430? $17,400.

(1) Oct 2014
(2) Feb 2002
(3) 58,000 3 owners,
(4) Still on my first tank of gas but so far everything that I've checked seems fine. Got the dealer to change the timing belt and water pump as part of the deal.
(5) 10,000 euros including 7 months road tax. (The Irish Government kindly relieve me of 1,809 euro every year for the privilege of paying nearly 1.50 euro per litre to enjoy this car on our potholed roads) Luckily I don't use this as my daily driver

My 05 SC430
1. In what year did you buy your SC430? - Bought it in the spring of 2010.
2. What year is your SC430? - it's a 2005
3. Roughly how many miles did the SC430 have when you bought it? - It flipped to 21,000 miles as I drove it home. Now it has 37,600 miles on it. (I only drive it in the summer and store it in the winter)
4. Do you feel you got a good deal (did the car break down after purchase, incur high repair costs, etc)? - I'm in Canada so an SC is pretty hard to come by. It was a private sale and from the research I did he was asking a very reasonable price ($5k less than a dealer) and he also agreed to pay to upgrade the Nav disk to the 2010 version. I took it to the Lexus dealer where it had been serviced for the past 3 years for a pre purchase inspection. The guy I purchased it from was the second owner. Car was originally from Chicago. Lexus did not find any problems and they gave me a copy of all of the service records they had for the car. The car was in awesome shape inside and out, came with a new set of OEM Lexus floor mats still in the package and tires with less than 500 miles on them. The car has been great, Outside of regular oil changes I have also changed the coolant, transmission fluid, new plugs, new brake pads and front rotors. Last year I put on chrome rims and rubber, ditched the run flats and went with Michelin pilot sport, she rides like a dream now. When she comes out of storage in the spring I am going to upgrade the ML radio.
5. Roughly how much did you pay for your SC430? - paid $36k all in.
2. What year is your SC430? - it's a 2005

1. In what year did you buy your SC430? Ordered June 2007, received July 2007
2. What year is your SC430? 2007
3. Roughly how many miles did the SC430 have when you bought it? 8 at delivery, 95,300 now
4. Do you feel you got a good deal (did the car break down after purchase, incur high repair costs, etc)? Yes, $8,148 below sticker of $67,148. I have incurred zero repair costs in 7.5 years. There was one break down at 59,000 miles when the water pump failed. Lexus replaced it under warranty and changed the timing belt for free at the same time since the labor was already performed. I have purchased all Lexus replacement parts for routine maintenance and have performed 95% of all maintenance myself.
5. Roughly how much did you pay for your SC430? $59,000 exactly.

2002, 125k, 2 owners full service records and no accidents. Paid 10k for it. Super deal I think... No issues with the car in terms of mechanical. Slight road rash on the hood (small pebbles... Pebble beach? Love the hood)
