Default Hi~! New owner, question regarding OBD2 programming...

I recently sold my 1998 GS400 with 350,000+km for a 2002 SC430 with 220,000km, and they both drive like new

My question is regarding OBD2, I see some selling at dealextreme (http://www.dealextreme.com/c/obd-obd...diag-tools-713) and I want to ask if it is worth buying a programmable cable; I wonder if there is any advantage or any tweaks I can do with it, or flash a 2005 version on to my 2002 SC430.

I plan to buy a Bluetooth one so I can see what's going on on my Android phone using the Torque app for iPhone/Android...

as far as I remember, there weren't any reflashing utilities available for the OEM lexus ecu, which would reflash part or the entire ecu, tables etc...

You can forget about programming and tuning the ecu. lol

Those are generic engine diagnostic code readers.
They read/clear your engine trouble codes, that's it.
None of them can even read your Lexus/Toyota ABS codes except the one made by Memoscan.

I have a USB OBD-II reader hooked up to my CarPC. It's useful to pull trouble codes, clear the "check engine" light, and display some rudimentary engine data in semi-realtime (the refresh rate is a little slow).

But that's about all you can do with it (that I know of).
