Help me find a 430?
Folks,
Looking at picking up a 2005+ SC430. Just missed out on a fully loaded 05 with 15k miles for $28k.
If anyone located a stellar deal on an 05+ with Nav etc for <$30k, please let me know... Can travel anywhere in the US for the right vehicle...
Thanks,
Jonny

Depending on budget, I'd go for greater than or equal to a 2006, rather than an 05. 06 is when lexus made, what some call the 2nd Gen SC430. Cosmetic changes to the nose and tail, 6sp transmission, upgraded LED instrument panel, nicer wheels than the pie plates, matching headliner/pillar garnish and a few other things....

Here's another vote for 2006 and up.
My next SC (the his SC) will be at least a 2006.

Or wait a few years and get an 09? Where some more changes happened?
Then again a lot of people will be in the hunt, too.

This talk has me wondering why I've seen a number of 06's on autotrader that have pie plates wheels with the twisters. At first I thought maybe someone with an 05 or earlier model switched them out, but am seeing quite a few. Did they actually make some 06's with twisters? anyone know-what gives?

could be people buying them cheap for trade in purposes...ie they had aftermarket wheels or gsypders etc. I know people that have done that. Which is what i would do too. I also think 05 is a waste of money (unless you get some awesome deal) go for an 06 its the cheapest youll pay for the upgrades. or 2010 if you dont want the tape deck and a gen 6 nav other than that 02-05 whould be interchangable so worry about condition and miles not so much the year.

Well I'm not sure about the pie plate question, however if you go to http://www.toyotareference.com/lexussc#SC and check out the sale brochure for each year, you'll see the Star-Inset wheel featured on all but one page. The safety page does have a photo of pie plates.
