Default The Forum made me do it!/ New Michelin Pilot Sport Tires

I just kept reading about all the tires changes to Michelin pilot Sport tires as I Bumped and thumped along on my wonderful run flats. After 8400 miles and one replacement (nail and not able to repair it) and another repair that leaked I said enough is enough. I called Lexus and told them what I thought of their run flats and the fantastic ride it gave to their car. My warranty was just running out (2007 Pebble Beach) and I was not to happy about replacing another run-flat and lo and behold they comped me a tire that I had replaced as a gesture of goodwill. (thank You Lexus). As soon as the Pilot Sport tires were put on the car felt like it should have always felt like. 4 Years of rough riding gone in a instance. Better handling and smoother and quieter. I want to thank the forum for all of the great comments and am now getting the kit in case of a flat.

Wow only 8.4k on an 07 PB?

I'm going to wait till mine get up to 25k before I change the tires. I'm only at 13.5 right now so about a year and a half more. I've been leaning toward the Continental ExtremeContact DWS but looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport.

Run flat seems "fine" but crazy when going over small bumps.

I wanted to put some miles on the tires but knew Lexus would not hold the free tire offer to me forever. This is one of the biggest changes you can make on this car. My run flats used to grab in the road grooves and I hated that.I understand that run flats became a option in later years. Was that the case for your year?

You shouldn't have to. It depends on what you have on there now. If you have the OEM rims, then you are fine.

I just came back from the bank and I still cannot believe the handling and ride difference. Every time I get in the car it is almost like getting a new car. Now I am going to get my iphone to work with a new Vais system. I can do it myself easily with the forums help.

If i want to change out my tires.. Is it the best to go to discount or have them done at lexus dealer (I prefer discount because of their service). I am curious if discount will mess up the the TPM?? Also my dealer said it is not wise to switch to conventional tire because it could mess up the TPM. Since my dealer suggested that I swap out my front run-flats because them being pointy and also suggested cleaning my rotors because of sticky brake pad residues to get a better ride. Maybe it is time to get this done.
