With 1K deductible just get the fender. U can probably get one painted in the same color as yours in good condition for way less than 1K. Try to polish out the scuffs on the bumper so u dont have to paint that either. But if your **** about everything being absolutely perfect then go with your insurance.

The case of two scenarios...both may be just fine...

Insurance and high end route: R&R fender support, inside liner, inspect frame, inside support, blah blah blah, paint and install new fender, buff and wet sand front bumper (OR REPLACE)..what's up with your wheel/tire did it get hit too? I could see EASILY $3k

Option # 2: get the fender from your CL friend in CA...paint it, buff out best you can the bumper, have brother in law paint/match (good luck, silver is TOUGH) and tighten up the fender liner, etc. Hope and pray there is no other damage. What about inside the engine bay? this option should cost under $1k for sure.

Thanks for the suggestion typeriz. I'll do that. The engine bay looks fine. I think the tire was hit, but I don't see anything wrong with the wheel. The car drives fine except for a very very slight pull to the right that may have been there before. I'll most likely get an alignment soon and that should uncover any possible issues.

Looks like I'll probably be picking up a fender on Sunday afternoon. I'll keep you guys posted with the progress.

Final cost was a little less than $1k because we ended up giving my bro-in-law some money. Paint was around $400. Thanks Nam (CAMA) for the fender!

My bro-in-law ended up fixing a number of other dings as well as an area where someone (not me) burned through the paint using an orbital buffer.

Glad it came out fine, can't even tell that your car took a hit.

Yeah, I don't think there's any question that this was the best way to go. Glad everything went so smoothly for you.
