Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus
Anyone have these on their SC?
I am planning to remove the RFT soon and would like to know they like these tires. The previous A/S only received a fair review from Consumers Reports.
I will be carrying a space saver spare only on long trips.
Also recently purchased the 8 yr. 75K Lexus Platinum Extended Warranty from Troy in MA for $1880.

lots of past conversations on what are the best replace standard tires.
the pilot sport a/s seems to be the champ.
I've got them and they're great.
do a search and dig into what we've found.
try 'pilot sport, sc430.'

Costco has them 70 off if you buy four, installed with warranty $1000 out the door. CR rates them as the best tire you can get for high performance. They are one of the few with a tread warranty 55K miles. I was about to buy a set, but the guy I just bought wheels from sold me tires with them. Falkens. Much rather have the pilots.

Gang-go to www.tires.com and read the reviews on it. Pretty nice reviews....about $100 more per tire than my Toyos. I wonder if you "feel" $100 more per tire?
I always ask myself that when I sip my Grey Goose versus mix with my Stoli(nichi) vodka too. mmmmmmmm interesting facts to ponder! LOL

I got mine at Discount for $249 each, then got a $70 rebate and a $50 rebate.
I like the A/S tires. Bob has the Yokos , but for some reason the Yokos do not feel good driving in the rain. I also like the fact these are supposed to be good for about 40-45 miles.
Also.. back to the spare issue. I got a 155/70/17 spare, I think from a 06 Toyota Camry.. fits well, and clears the calipers..$50.!

I was given the option whether the standard pilots or pilots a/s.
the a/s have a more defined trend pattern for 'all season' (rain/snow) driving.
I'm in AZ, but you never know what conditions you'll be in, so I went with the a/s.
some have said they're a bit more noisy, but I haven't found that so.
very grippy.
happy with 'em.

I know that the A/S (not plus) only received a fair review from Consumer Reports. I don't know the Plus are rated.

Took a nice 200+ mile trip yesterday to upstate NY on the new Michelin PS A/S plus yesterday. Wow! What an enjoyable ride compared to the Dunlop RFT's I originally had. I no longer cringe awaiting the hard thump when I go over a bump or a hole. I carried the space saver spare in the trunk. The roof was still able to retract. Looking forward to more trips.
