how to turn the drl off while parked?
hi. this one time my gf and i were sitting in a parking lot. we parked and i did something in a specific order and the drl turned off while the car was still on. it has something to do with the hand(leg) brake, shifter and i think the headlight switch. but as soon as you release the hand brakes the drl turned back on automatically. i never managed to do it again. does anyone know how? i remember you can do it on some hondas also(prelude). tia.

I never noticed that behavior with my SC, but I did with my Outback. Apparently the assumption is that when you set your parking brake, you're stopped (or you will very soon be ) and don't need driving lights.

I know on our Camry (with DRLs) if you have the parking brake on and then start the car the DRLs dont go on until the parking brake is released. The theory being if you wanted to drive without them you leave the parking brake on its last click, or of course you just go to the dealer and have the C-Best option changed

FYI for Canadian cars we CANNOT turn off the DRL via C-Best.. Tried to convince my service advisor today but they disabled this option for us up here..
Called 3 other Lexus dealers in the immediate area and the same story.. Oh well..
