Mileage vs Time Maintenance
I've had my 2002 SC430 since the summer of 2001 which is, let's see, 1..2..3..4..5 .... other hand ....... 6 years, but have only 17,000 miles on it. I put the car away every winter and always change the oil and filter when I put it back on the road in the spring. I plan to change the engine air filter and the cabin filter this year, but I would like some opinions on what else should be done.
Besides the oil/oil filter change, the AC filter, and the engine air filter replacements, the Maintenance Manual for 72 months (or 90,000 miles!) recommends replacing the brake fluid, the engine coolant, and the timing belt. It seems to me that replacing the brake fluid and coolant might be a good idea, but the timing belt? I expect the timing belt replacement would be a mileage issue rather than an elapsed time issue.
Comments? Suggestions for any other items?
Thanks
