My dad leased an XK8 in late July, early august. Anyway my mom went to drive the car last week and all these sensor warnings on the dash went off. Needless to say she took it to the dealer, who btw do all service and maitance for free, which cant be said about lexus. Heres the kicker, instead of giving her another Jaguar like an S-Type or whatever they gave her a Chrysler Minivan for goods sake. There policy on loaners is they give whatever enterprise rentals has available. Lexus gives you an RX or ES at least. What doesnt make sense is when we first leased the car, it came dirty so the dealer said bring it back for detailing. It was going to take the whole day so they gave us an S-type. So why now a van!! This comes from a dealer who only sells imported exotic cars (i.e porsche, ferrari, Aston Martin, & jaguar)......

My friend's dad owns a S-Type and whenever he takes it in for service, he gets a Ford Focus! He's on his 3rd tranny too...(automatic).

Why couldn't Toyota take over Jaguar?!

Aside from the soft top hard top issue, the Lex is slightly faster. I also like the look of the Lexus more than the Jag.

The Lex is a great car and it is superior in technology, power and reliability. However, the Jag has more prestige(for now), beauty(let's be fair now..) and panache among people. The XK8 took the title from the 1st genaration SC4 as the most beautiful car in the "World" in it's release in 97'... I have to admit it is IMO...(the DB7 is a Jag with Aston Martin badges... Jag makes the sheet metal for AM and Ford owns both...)

Lexus has a great service policy overall, just not in Jackson, MS at Herrin-Gear Lexus....
