Default Cleared side marker lights - pic's

I had some plastic diffusion material left over from my tailight project, so I went ahead and tried it on the side markers. The results with the light on isn't stellar, but it's adequate. I used a 4 LED 194 bulb so that's it's clear when off, but amber when lit. I also painted the inside of the housing with touch up paint to match the color of my car

Taking them apart wasn't difficult, just time consuming. I used my trusty Dremel tool to cut the plastic lens off, then used the housing as a template for cutting the plastic. I used two layers of the diffusion plastic (with the dimples facing each other) to get a more even light from the LED. There's still a bright spot in the center, but at night the whole lens is pretty well lit. I'll try to post some night time pics soon.

Here's a pic of it all apart with the new lenses cut.

... and here's how it looks installed ... Also, I used an amber LED for the front turn signal to get rid of the yellow reflections up there

The markers took about half an hour each. Most of that was sanding and letting the glue dry I did another post with pics for the tailights.

Excellent job. That's one of my DIY projects for next month. Gotta go buy a new dremel tool. Some guy stole it out of my office. Where can you pick up those LED lights?

It's really not too hard. First , turn your wheel towards the center of the car. Then remove about 3 of the bolts holding in the plastic fender liner. The liner is in two pieces, but you only need to remove enough of the screws to pull back the bottom part of the upper piece. The seam is approximately even with the marker light. It should be obcious once you look at it. Once you pull the liner back, you can reach in with a ratchet and remove the two nuts holding the marker light in. I don't remember what size the nuts are, either 8 or 10 mm. Once you figure it out, it only takes about two minutes to move the liner and get to them.

I don't have any spare marker lamps The process is easy enough for anyone to do, but if you want to send me your marker lights and pay for my time, I'd be willing to do the conversion.

Default side markers??

Hey Hey,
I'm think I'm down for that whole "send you my sidemarkers and pay you for the time +any costs" thing
How much is your time worth?
