Sc400 2jz swap, need a bit of info & help
Hello guys, so I have owned my sc400 for about 4 months now and have done all the regular maintenance to it since then. I have looked at a bunch of info and threads on swaps and such as the 2jz or 1jz swap really interest me. Now, reason I want the swap is obviously more power. I searched and really wanted to build my 1uz and maybe go turbo but after inquires and much searching ive come to the conclusion that its just not worth it. Cost just as much or more to just build it right than to just swap a 1j or possibly 2j. Between the 2jz and 1jz I have not completely decided yet and am just thinking about getting which ever one I find the better deal for, just to state, this is gonna be my daily driver atleast for some time and im not expecting MASSIVE power just looking for a fast fun street car, im expecting to put out 500-600rwhp at most by the time I finish the car. Ive seen the pricing on a 2jz go for as much as a 1jz so its all about what I find. Im looking to buy a complete swap with tranny and everything, seen many go from $1500 to $5000 or even more. My main questions that I haven't really been answered besides the motor mounts I need from the sc300 or harness, are if the ecu that's comes with the 1jz/2jz compatible with the swap or will I need another ecu? also from what I have read people have trouble with connecting the ac once a swap is done why is that? I really want ac since it will be my daily lol if anybody has any input on this or willing to give me info that I may be missing please lmk. im almost ready to buy a swap just wanna know everything I can before I do it. BTW once motor is bought it will be installed by a performance shop that my close friend works at not by me. Thanks for your time
