Don't worry about the price on the site, PM me your zip code and i'll get you your forum pricing.
The hood is designed to use the factory hood latch, however we do recommend hood pins with all of our hoods.
Thank you,
Irving

Awesome. And if the hood uses the heavy duty factory locking mechanism, why use pins?
Edit: How much for the Duraflex you have laying around? Looks great. Since I will be painting it the same color as my car, won't need to go carbon.

It's a lot lighter than the factory hood. The latch is intended to hold a heavier hood down that has gravity helping it stay in place. With lighter hoods at higher speeds the same amount of lift force can be enough to unlatch the hood off the factory latch. Which can result in the hood obstructing the drivers vision, and worse hitting the windshield/roof and cracking it and messing up your paint. Really if you're getting any thing lighter than the stock hood you should consider hood pins a mandatory add-on. I know some people think it's ricey, but I'd rather look a little ricey than have to find a new pair of underwear and time to go to the body shop because my hood flew open on the highway.

How do you configure hood pins?

I had a hood launch at 80mph on my grand national, Its pretty scary and I had a perfect imprint of the cowl on my windshield. SUUUUCKED! Struts burst and got fluid on the paint that never went away! Bad day in automotive history. so hood pins yes, the flat latches look good without being to intrusive.
