GE Head on GTE Block
Will a GE head fit on a GTE block? I going to be building a NA-T looking to make 6-700 hp and I know titan sells a OEM short block (http://www.titanmotorsports.com/fatosh.html) Ive done some searching but only found a hand full of threads. Mostly is the GTE head on a GE block. So if anyone knows of a write up on this or has first hand experience please point my in the right direction.

Yes I know they are that much, but you dont know the history of the motor, how it was ran, or anything. When this route I know its all brand new with zero miles and with Toyota OEM dependability.

You can always pull the pan on the GTE and check the Rods, Bearings and Crank for wear. I recently bought a 2jzge at the junkyard, pulled the bearing caps and found no major wear, no bearing scratches, crank is perfect. Cylinder walls still have the crosshatching in them. Engine had 220k miles on it.

not everyone likes the new gte shortblocks, alot prefer a good used one to rebuild for that money or get a ge and build it or even 3.4L it for that dough. do some research online. the head will most likely physically fit but if you use a gte headgasket + ge head you will probably be dropping the compression further than a stock gte.
