Default How much for a clean SC300 Shell

Hey all new here and looking at purchasing a shell. Im just trying to figure out how much they go for. The one I found has 213k on it. Very clean exterior and was painted 2 years ago. The inside is in ok shape. Seast has a tear but all interior is there. The car itself is 100% stock but the motor has a blown motor. (bad head gasket) They are willing to take 1300 for it. Is that a good deal?

Also in general how much are shells going for today?

Not commonly sold I don't think. A shell usually implies varying degrees of stripped interior and drivetrain. I wouldn't call a blown head gasket a "Shell". thats just a fixer upper really. Fixing a head gasket would take a weekend and <$100 on a head gasket.

I see a lot of people on the east coast trying to sell non-running SC300s for over $3000, which seems ridiculous to me. With that said I bought a running car with 160k miles in the Atlanta area for a little over $2000.

I may have gotten a deal, but getting a shell for around $1000 doesn't seem like a bad deal to me (especially if its only a head gasket).

A blown headgasket may and will entail more than just a gasket swap, thus its considered a shell.

Question is, is the shell worth putting money into?

Well I am planning to be building the motor so Im not to worried about the head gasket problem. Im just trying to figure out if this is a fair price for a clean car pretty much.

I got mine for 1000 and it had a bad head gasket interior was 8/10 paint was faded though I spent 400 for gasket set/ radiator and waterpump so 1300 is fair I would just try to haggle the price a bit
