If it ain't broke don't.....
My 93 SC 400 has been running so good I decided to just clean a few items in the engine bay. First thing I did was paint my battery ground black. For some reason it was red and that can be confusing. I disconnected the cable and cleaned the contacts good. Taped them off and sprayed the insulation black. Next I disconnected the 2 igniters and pulled the bracket that holds the. Painted the bracket and put everything back together. Now the car will not fire. It turns over but doesn't want to catch. I thought maybe a blown fuse but I have check them all. Any ideas or suggestions?? As I stated earlier it was running great before I messed around.

the brackets ground the ignitor sometimes. when you paint the whole thing it will not work as a ground anymore unless you scratch the part under where the ignitor bolts on, and you scratch the part up where it bolts to the chassis.
I am no positive if these ignitors are grounded through the bracket or not, I know they don't have a ground wire so I it would make sense and only saying it cause you painted it and thats usually a problem that can come up is painting parts that should be grounded. the battery cover thing I think was fine as long as the cables are back on tight.

Guys thanks for the quick and helpful responses. Looks like a short in the ignitor plugs. I reset them and worked them in good. The car is doing fine now. If it wasn't for the 22 year old nuts, bolts, and connectors this car would be easy to work on.
