Last night my moonroof decided because a full moon was out, that it liked it and wouldn't close lol.

Ironic huh?

So, after searching the threads and getting the dome accessory panel off and using vice grips to crank the screw counterclockwise to close it, I am now faced with another issue...


^ I have the front part sealed after cranking it closed,... but as you can see on the next pic...



^ I cannot get the moonroof to "lift up" and seal the back end too. We have rain possibly in a few days and I would hate if water got in to that area and starting leaking and damaging electronics, and/or in time creating rust to the metal in there.

I have tried simultaneously, with keys in "On", pressing the "Tilt" button to make it lift while I try cranking the screw, and pushing up/then back on the moonroof but so far no success.

With that gap will water seep in there? and if that's the case, without paying some guy to fix it, does anyone have any suggestions on how I can mimic that last lift part to seal that portion of the gap?

Oh that sucks dude, hopefully you have clean drains, that's what they are there for. That being said I don't know. Is it loose enough at all to push up and then put a rubber stop or something in place for now?

You know what that's a good idea I might be able to put something inside underneath to keep it pushed up for the time being...thanks man I'll try that... however I noticed that at the same time when I push up it tends to open up the gap on the front. It's like it has to almost tilt straight up then move back to fit right. It's a pain in the *** at the moment lol.

I just tried it. It wont fit perfectly back up in a sealed position. Nice idea though and again, thanks. I saw in a previous thread a guy posted he and his friend were working on the same issue but it was a thread from 2012-2013. He never said if/how he solved it.
