Cassette adapter help
I bought a cassette adapter to play my own music, and of course the tape deck doesn't work.
The following pictures will show what happens. When the small triangle is facing up, music plays very well, when small triangle is facing down music is really low, music plays for about 2 second on each triangle then goes back to radio anyone know a fix???
Already opened up and removed everything inside the small cassette...

This is the second cassette adapter I've purchased and both did the same thing.
I purchased another radio unit but it was in worse condition than the one I have now.

The best way I can help you is to give you advice for searching the forum on how to remove the radio and throw it away. The Cassette adapters take a digital signal and convert it to analog. This is why they are such low noise and muffled. It's the best case scenario if they actually work at all to hear noise and be happy with whatever ya get.
With there being an actual fit kit for the SC, there's no reason not to get rid of it. You don't have to do an amp bypass or rewire. Just use a hi to low lever adapter and any radio you wish and enjoy actual unmuffle digital music.

When the small triangle is facing down is when it sounds low and muffled.
it plays about 2 seconds on each side before it goes back to playing radio.

There is no digital in that chain. The converters actually take an electrical signal, converter it to magnetic and the head turns it back to electrical. There is not much you can do with the tape deck to help or maintain it beyond cleaning the heads. This problem sounds mechanical so that will do nothing. The suggestion above to replace it is great advice. Replace it with something with bluetooth and an aux jack and you will be incredibly happy. They start at about $150 with all the bells and whistles but spend more if you can
