How much is the RSP really worth?
Well i have been thinking a lot lately on what is the value of my car? being that it is 1 of about 15, 97 SC400's that are RSP on black i really wonder if people would pay premium price for this car? say 10,00 or even 13,000 if lucky? is this outrageous or does the rareness of the car make it acceptable?

To be honest, only if you can find a person who is willing to pay that price. The "right buyer" which may be a collector or something. Don't get me wrong, the RSP does make the SC more sought after.
For me, RSP means nothing. The SC is rare enough you can't find much of anywhere. But for color, depending how rare the SC is in general, I'll buy whatever SC and paint it to whatever color I want.

If it was a 97 5-speed SC300 hardtop in RSP on black then YES it would be incredibly rare and I would easily fork over 15k to you by the morning for it.
Anything that deviates from that is likely to be less and less desirable.
Fish it out. Market is softer on 400's but the color combo is fairly sought after. Maybe someone has their heart set on an automatic 400 with that color combo.

400 Manual conversion Rsp on black, hardtop sounds even better.

Well it has about 150k not much on mods just all new suspension, exhaust, tt wheels and seats, fuel upgrade pretty much stock hoping to drop a 6 speed in later on when the AT goes. i am just trying to make sure i can get some cash out of what i will be dumping in to it being that it is an sc and sadly i see these cars go less than a Honda Civic breaks my heart.

This is an interesting topic since i just bought an SC300 RSP with 109k. However i got for a fairly good price since the owner from craigslist didnt know of its rarity.
I think they dont cost a whole lot more unless like someone mentioned, if its a 5-speed.

I saw an RSP SC300 with 220,000 miles two weeks ago go for $5,600 out in Oklahoma City. It sold pretty quick even with the high miles.
I would say $6,500-$8,000 would be a good price. I would pay more for an SC400 than I would an SC300 though. 97+ SC400's seem to be pretty rare.
