2000 sc400 lift supports shocks struts - replaced
Replaced these on my trunk today.. what a pain in the *** to put the new ones back - unless one remembers to remove the rubber plastic limiters.
Finally, I remembered there was somebody in this forum saying there are some plastic limiters with rubber on the trunk lifting arms.. those do not allow the trunk to open at the maximum and therefore struts to extend completely, so when you put the new ones in, if you don't take off those limiters, you can never fit the new ones in.
Something to remember, if you replace you trunk struts for SC400, after you remove the old struts (one by one) make sure the trunk lifts completely by removing the plastic clips with rubber limiters, then put them back on after the new struts go in.
One more thing, people complain about how hard is to remove the factory painted lock-tited nut on the original strut.. Mine went off pretty easy with a long 12 mm wrench and some firm pulling.
