Blacking headlight housings... again
Well guys, don't rip me apart, I searched 5 different titles and 10 pages on each one.. I used to own an is300 and know that painting the sc300 headlights are pretty much the exact same process. I am not necessarily asking about blacking the housings themselves but clearing the lens completely. I know by searching that tons of people use the ebay headlight lenses but I really would rather not pay 200 dollars for some lenses... so basically I'm asking if anyone has cleared the stock lenses or if they are able to be purchased anywhere.. also if stock or pretty much OE style headlights are able to be purchased that are NOT the cheap "halo" crappy projectors that are everywhere on the internet. Is there any vendors on here or people that black the housings for people professionally?
Thanks a lot.
I've seen people talk about DIY's of making clear lenses but I cannot find it.. I just suck at searching I guess... unless it's just talk

the diy to clear your lenses is fair straight forward but its going to be alot of work, you need to sand the lines off by hand and then gradually work your way up in sandpaper grit until the lines are gone and all your sanding marks as well, its alot of work and most people dont do a good job.

97+ projectors look a lot better than pre.
i have some blacked out headlights (not clear lens) i wouldnt mind getting rid of, cleared lenses will probably make you want to kill yourself as ***** said unless you fork over that $200. the hours it takes is equivalent.

He has not been back to verify however I think he meant the Halo aftermarket lenses on the web. I have them and they would surely qualify as crappy WAY more than our stock lights.
The main issue for me is that they are made for right hand drive automobiles. They point left in an effort to preserve the vision of the drivers they assume will be on your right. They blind drivers in this country and look strangely dark on the right of the car. Mine also LOOK STRAIGHT DOWN on the road in front of the car. Cant wait to mount my restored "stock" lights after getting them clear coated.

well yes originally I was talking about the ebay lights. At least on the IS forums, everyone knew that the ebay headlights are trash, and it's the same company/look as all of the ones for the sc300 on ebay. Anyways those lights are nice, I may pick those up
