Tire size question, stock rim

Tire size question, stock rim
I have a 95 sc300 n/a auto with stock rims, right now the rear tires are 225/55/16. I was wondering if 235/55/16 would fit fine or bulge the sidewall out too much? I tried searching but only found posts involving non-stock rims.
Or, maybe my tire sizes are just all wrong lol, I am getting different numbers from different places.

If you are concerned with speedo being accurate toboot..
235 55 16 - speedo says 60mph your doing 61.0
235 50 16 - speedo says 60mph your doing 58.9
245 50 16 - speedo says 60mph your doing 59.8 i would pick this if you Want a wider tread.
But either choice will be fine..
I guess the question is why change tire size on the stock rim?
less tire, means less friction - and more winter traction as more weight is distributed over a smaller area.
anything wider CAN buldge out more but its very dependant on the tire brand and type. And since you would be shortening the sidewall height if you go to a 50, it may offset how wide it may look.
usually a larger sidewall will have a bit more of a rounded crown - and seem like its a buldge - compared to the same tire with a shorter profile -
but some tires, even if same size, will be different only because of the type or brand etc.
otherwise. just keep stock tire size

I was just thinking a little wider tire would be good, more rubber on the road. It never snows here so I am not worried about winter traction at all.
I guess I will stay stock tire size just to make things simple and won't have to explain anything if I ever need to use the tire warranty.
Thanks for the input though.
