Default My SC400 Caught on Fire...

Hello CL,

So I own a 1992 SC400 with about 340k km and last saturday it caught on fire I was driving and smelled something burning, when I parked and got out of the car, I saw smoke coming under the hood so I opened it and saw fire from the bottom drivers side just right below the oil dipstick. I haven't tried starting the car yet since this happened. I was wondering what you guys think could be the problem and what needs to be fixed and roughly how much would it be. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

sounds like one of your cats went bad and probably turned red hot and caught something on fire....

Could be. He has an exhaust leak near the cat. So it could've backfired and lit something up? Maybe?

yes there was an actual fire. I have fixed the exhaust leak prior to this incident.
