0-60 Time on 93 SC400 w/ TC + NOS?
Just out of curiosity, the two mods I would consider doing to my 93 SC400 would be a TC and a 75-100 HP shot of NOS. Assume everything else is essentially stock.
If these were used properly together to prevent tire slip, what do you guys think the 0-60 time would realistically be? 1/4 Mi.?
Thanks,
Ryan

It depends on the age, mileage, and condition of your car as well as when you decide to shoot the nitrous. But it's generally not a good plan to inject it in first or second gear because they are short gears to begin with and you will already have traction issues with the new torque convertor and stock 225 tires. But I will venture a *guess* of 5.9 to 6.2 secs on the 0-60, and maybe 14.8 on the quarter mile. Regardless of what the numbers are, you'll definitely feel a performance gain...

Thanks Rich,
I was actually thinking (hoping) it would push the 0-60 down even further like low to mid 5 seconds. My thought was stock is 250 HP + 50 RWHP from TC + 100 HP from NOS = 400 HP. I was thinking that would really bring down the 0-60 much more from the 6.8 stock. I am probably over simplifying the math on this.
I agree on not spraying too soon. Probably as soon as it hits 3rd gear.
Thanks,
Ryan

One other thought. The discussions people have been having on the TC are claiming 0.5 sec off the 0-60. So, 6.8 - 0.5 = 6.3
Now take the 6.3 and drop in another 100 HP - it just seems to me it would be at least 5.9. Again, I am assuming everything is additive, which it very well may not be.

Rich, you want him to wait until third gear to spray? That's not going to do much to affect his short time . Dude, spray it right out of the hole, on a set of 26x10 ET Drags, with the Precision 9.5" converter or an SP unit, you'll definitely be in the fives 0-60, should be able to click a mid 14 nooo problem, assuming you can drive worth a *****. By the way, the 1UZ will handle a much larger shot than that, using a standalone you can go with a monster hit on this motor. You can hit 12's on a slick just on mgt and spray with a little weight taken out.

My car runs a 15.0 with current mods, the TC should get you 15.3 or so with a stock motor. The NOS I don't know about, but I know that I'm looking at a 3/4 sec drop with a TC, that's gonna be around 14.2-.3 right there without shooting.

A GOOD complete nitrous setup will run around $1500 or so (in parts).
No reason the motor won't take a direct port 160 shot (unless it is already on its way out).
160shot + TC and decent tires should be a mid-low 13 in my opinion.
