Default 6.5 Speaker Adapter for Rear Fitment

I bought the speaker adapters from ebay and I'm trying to install the 6 1/2 speakers in the rear deck. From what I have read it says to seperate the adapter so you can use one half for the front and the remainder for the rear speakers. But for the life of me I cant figure out how to use the adapter to mount the rear speakers. I have infinity kappas that I've been attempting to figure out how to install them using that speaker adapter. Can anyone describe how to do this? I've been stuck for hours...

Anyone know how to use part of these ebay adapters for mounting the rear speakers? Trying to install them tonight.

Do you have a link to them? All I find on eBay are the fronts.

You shouldn't need adapters for 6.5's in the reardeck. When I installed mine all I had to do was bend the lips down a little and they fit perfectly.

The ones I have are for the front. The same ones listed on ebay. However, based on the info I got, people separate the two halfs that make up the front speaker adapter. The adapter is two parts screwed together... One half they use for the front speakers and the other half they use for the rear. I'm just not sure how they're utilizing that section of the adapter for installing the rear speakers.

When you say bend the lips, are you referring to bending the metal on the rear deck? I was hoping I could use this adapter set-up to avoid having to alter the rear deck.

Where did you get that info?

Remove the stock speakers from the plastic housings and reuse the housing once modified. In easier terms screw the new speakers into the old speaker plastic shell.Worked great for me and once i soldered the old stock connectors to the new speakers its a factory finish.

Well I finally got the rear 3 way infinity kappas mounted into the rear deck. I removed the 4" kappas and the factory speaker mounting bracket. The 6 1/2 kappas were just a hair too big to fit into that factory cut-out, so I took the dremel and a cutting disc and cut the hole 1/4" wider. Other than the metal shavings that worked just fine. So I bought some dynamat extreme and dynamated the underside of the rear deck for now.

Next I'm upgrading the front with a 6 1/2" kappa component set. Had to order some speaker baffels for the 6 1/2's. And then i discovered the weather stripping near the front corner of the window is allowing a small amount of water to leak in which will drip directly onto the tweeter if I dont replace it. I was taking my time with this install, but now with the weather stripping needing to be replaced its probably gonna be another week or so before I can get those 4 front speakers in. But that will give me more time to install the 4 channel JL amp that should be here in a couple days.

I really hope these new tweeters fit from this component set. They are alot bigger than the 1" kappa tweeters I had in there before. And to answer one of the questions above about the separating the two halfs of the front speaker adapter that was purchased from ebay, I got that info from somewhere on the forums when I was doing a few searches on the adapters.
