Default 'Wood' trim...

Slow day in the office and found a piece of wood trim left over from my previous SC, so decided to make it black.
Instead of painting it, I was thinking about sanding down the clear coat and re-stain the wood to keep the wood grain visible.
I guess I shouldn't start with a belt sander with a brand new belt...
It went right through the coating...and the wood.
Then, the little light bulb came on, and this is what I got so far...

yea.. that wood and clear is very thin... you would have been better off sanding it by hand..

Lol I tried the same thing before. The wood might as well be a sheet of paper
