is it like a loud *** screaming whine...like its embaressing as hell to the point where u dont like to pull out of anywhere in it lol....if so it might be your harmonic balancer taking a crap on you...(aka crank pulley) or there could be air in the ps system...easy way to get rid of that is jack the front up turn car on and turn car left to right until it stops...and you see no bubbles in the resevoir...

A power steering pump can go bad even if it's full of fluid. Bleed the system first like scviolence mentioned and go on from there.

Had an LS400 with the same whining noise after I replaced the P/S Pump with a new P/S pump from Advance Auto parts. THE NEW part was bad, replaced with another one and no noise.

naw, i had that same problem i was embarrassed to drive anywhere!

flush your PS system, cost me 14 bucks and its worth the money! if your fluid isn't RED then you need to flush. i'm sure you're fluid will come out black/brown that's how mine was

Check your belt and pulleys if it is a squeal, if it is a motor whine, could be your pump even when full of fluid. Make sure it is flushed well and no air. These are the most basic troubleshooting methods for this problem. Everyone has pretty much covered it. Good luck, let us know what you come up with.
