Quarter Mile Times

Just had mine out for the first time at the strip since I bought it, ran a best of 14.09 @ 99.5 MPH, 2.2 60'. Car pulls hard, I love it!!! Even won first place in the import bracket bash that weekend! Trophy and all. Nothing is as consistant as a 20 year old Toyota!!!!LOL....
It's an auto 1JZ with a 3" catback, FMIC, RFL BOV, mushroom air filter, stock boost. I put on a pair of 17" Kumho XS (255/40) on Mazda wheels to burn off at about 21psi tire pressure....just could NOT break into the 13's, even after some 25 passes. Need an LSD biiiig time. Time slip is around here somewhere....

Thanks! I 'loaded' my Soarer to around 2000RPM prior to launching it with minimal wheel spin...anything over 2200, and I was peeling out of the lights. I was using nice sticky tires, doing a nice self-cleaning burnout, and the track officials had a love affair with traction compound! If I could have left the line at a higher rpm without wheelspin, (LSD) my 60's would have improved as well as my ET.

Make no mistake, the stock twins on the 1ZJ are not sequential, but they do have separate hoses for their independant wastegates. The hoses could be hooked up together, with a common boost source hose equipped with a MBC. I've been using a JoeP MBC for years on my other car.
So would running two boost controllers really benefit the 1jz as the total output of boost can be set at a certain pressure? For a 2jzgte in sequential, adding a boost controller for turbo #1 would help because the 1st turbo spools first, prespools the 2nd turbo and then both are online. Im sorry id just like you guys to educate me.

best for our auto tranny would be lsd, a stage 1 upgrade, and a higher stall would def get our car launching great but would have traction problems

Stock 1jz twin in a auto runs around 13.9 so a sc400 would be a 14-15 I think. Idk im guessing. It sucks the stick stall is at 2k rpm and I have a single turbo at 20 psi still can't spin and wont build boost

There is a thread on the top 20. If your car has a time that falls in here under the 20, let me know and have a copy of the timeslip ec

Took my 95 sc400 to the track for the firsttime last weekend and im pretty upset with the times. I know stock sc400s are slow so i wasnt hoping insane numbers but atleast a low 15. I was running low 16s the whole night the mods on my car include new whhels/tires, intake, full exhaust, and i tossed the spare tire and jack. I also wouldnt be as mad if i had a 200k mile sc4 but i just did a full tune-up a couple weeks ago and im sitting at 78k miles. Any ideas how i can get better times with my 400?
PS: im not super fat either and about half a tank of gas.
