Default SC300 /SC 400 parts you've replaced

WOW I had no idea till today that the SC300 and SC400 had shocks in the front instead of struts!!

So, after all these years of thinking all japanese car companies used standardized technology, my bubble has burst.

Anyway, with this thread, I'd like you to list the following :
1) Name of part you've had to replace
2) Price of part
3) Optional-- What mileage it was at..

On a side note, has anyone replaced their factory shocks with OEM replacements? If so, besides the shock, is there a mount or anything you need to replace?

Thanks

umm haha, this is interesting?

I think he means like updated parts like converting over to more piston brakes, different type of suspension, led lighting....?

Yeah I'm talking about OEM parts for the most part, but aftermarket/ modifications are ok too... Just no elaboration on TT parts.

I'm just trying to compare what the cost of maintenance would have been like if I had gotten into these cars over the past 8 years rather than the 3000gt/stealth life...

Heres a parts list I'll be comparing it too..

Timing belt/waterpump/crankseal/tensinoer (60k tune up) --$500 (every 60k mi)

Alternator $120 plus DIY labor ( or $100 shop installation labor) (120k)

Starter $100 plus DIY labor (unsure of shop labor) (118k)

Radiator fans -- unsure of new ones, had to get some off a used car-- $40

Radiator (aftermarket)--- $90 + DIY labor

Thermostat $20 , DIY

Spark plug replacement $65 for OEM NGK plugs, labor is a p.i.t.a, but one can do it yourself.. took me 3 hours my first time.. Shop charges between $120 - $200, dealer wants $300. (every 100k)

Battery $80 diy (every 3 to 4 years)

Front struts ( $90 a piece, plus $30 each side installation = $240 for front)
Front strut mounts $15 each

Rear shocks $80 each ... never dealt with installing them.

I think thats all the maintenance I had to go through on various 3000GTs over 8 years. Im assuming that maintenance costs are probably going to be equal for the most part between the SC and 3Kgt. ( except for the front shocks, i love that the SCs dont deal with struts even though struts is the better way to go!)

What year/mileage is your car? That brings up a good question i forgot to ask, at about what mileage are the rear main seals suppose to be replaced? It was about 200k on the SOHC 3000gt... DOHCs were alittle longer

im at 157k in a 95. i just put a quart or two every other time i get gas. honestly im not even positive its the rear main seal. but what else could be leaking that much oil from that area of the motor?

everytime im at a red light all you see is the smoke coming up from behind the windshield nozzle area from the oil burning on the exhaust

could use spark plugs and wires too...not sure when the previous owner changed em passenger window motor too :/ oh and steering rack bushings.

but for 1700 these things are to be expected.

its my dd for now and besides its faults been reliable so far. starts up and gets me where i need to go without fail.

gona try to buy something cheap and good on gas for a DD and slowly build up the SC myself, the RIGHT way.

Only things I've replaced are the 3rd brake light and upgraded exhaust. Brake light was $60ish and Exhaust was $860ish mounted.
